The Balls System: How Points Are Earned and Lost in Fantasy Basketball
Welcome to the Balls System—the core of how fantasy basketball points are calculated on Dynaplay Sports. In this system, every action a player takes on the court can earn or subtract points from your fantasy team’s total. Understanding this scoring system is crucial to mastering your fantasy team and making strategic decisions.
Here’s a breakdown of how the Balls System works, and how points are assigned based on real-world basketball stats:
Points Earned:
- Points Scored: +1 point for every 2 points a player scores.
- Rebounds: +1 point for each rebound (both offensive and defensive).
- Assists: +1.5 points for each assist.
- Steals: +2 points for every steal.
- Blocks: +2 points for each block.
- Turnovers: +(-1) point for each turnover.
- Field Goals Made: +0.5 points for each successful field goal (additional points apply for long-range shots).
- Three-Pointers Made: +1 point for every 3-pointer made.
- Free Throws Made: +0.5 points for each successful free throw.
- Double-Double: +2 points if a player records a double-double (10+ points and 10+ rebounds or assists).
- Triple-Double: +4 points if a player records a triple-double (10+ points, 10+ rebounds, and 10+ assists).
Points Subtracted:
- Missed Field Goals: -0.5 points for each missed field goal.
- Missed Free Throws: -0.25 points for each missed free throw.
- Technical Fouls: -2 points for each technical foul a player receives.
- Personal Fouls: -0.5 points for each personal foul committed.
The idea behind the Balls System is to reward players who have an all-around impact on the game while penalizing actions that detract from their team’s performance. By managing your team strategically and considering these points, you can gain an edge over your competitors in your league.
